About the Course
This workshop continues the journey of culturally sustaining work by helping participants build the necessary skills to make a transformative difference in the classroom. The first workshop in this series, "Supporting Native Students" began the journey of supporting American Indian students in the educational system. Pedagogy and Practice moves the conversation to developing and evaluating curriculum and practice. Join us to learn more about how to evaluate educational materials with a critical lens. Pedagogy and Practice goes further to explore how to design and implement classroom content and create lessons that support American Indian students. Learning Outcomes: - Identify best practices in classroom lessons that positively impact American Indian students. - Gain knowledge about how to identify problematic materials and teaching practices. - Learn about pedagogical approaches that speak to American Indian students in the classroom. - Understand the best practices of supporting American Indian student academic success.
